Yesterday evening, we were delighted to co-host a showcase event marking the culmination of the project we have been running with a group of young people supported by 4in10 member XLP, exploring their experiences of poverty and inequality and developing recommendations for decision-makers. The work has been facilitated by the fantastic team at Priority 1-54.

It was a brilliant event, buzzing with energy and creativity (see photo of some of the art work above), at which the young people did an excellent job of speaking truth to power, discussing their ideas with the invited audience, including London’s Deputy Mayors for Children and Young People, Joanne McCartney and Communities and Social Justice, Debbie Weekes-Bernard. Huge thanks to all colleagues at XLP, Priority 1-54 and Trust for London who helped make this happen. We will share a report on the project soon.

Tackling Child Poverty in London - new briefing

Last week we published a briefing alongside Centre for London and Trust for London on Tackling Child Poverty in London. This presents the findings from the discussion we held in December with representatives from across London’s local and regional government to explore how to ensure the success of the new Child Poverty Strategy in the capital. Read it here and please share with local decision makers and officials you are in touch with.
