As many of you will hopefully be aware, 4in10’s Policy Forum is working on plans to respond to the Government’s child poverty strategy when it is published in the Autumn. The aim of this will be to answer the question ‘How should London respond to the Child Poverty Strategy?’ and to open a conversation with London’s decision makers, including local MPs, the Mayor/GLA and local authorities across the city, about the steps they need to take to tackle child poverty in the city.
To support this work we want to gather evidence and views from across the Network. To this end we are holding five online one-hour thematic listening sessions over the next month:
- Housing and Homelessness: 19 August 11-12pm
- Income (social security and work): 20 August 11am-12pm
- Early years and family support, including childcare: 21 August 11am-12pm
- Supporting opportunities for young people: 26 August 2-3pm
- Inequalities (addressing intersectional inequalities faced by groups disproportionately experiencing child poverty): 28 August 11am– 12pm
We would love to invite everyone to attend one or more of the sessions to let us know what you think the key actions are that need to be taken. If you can make it email and we will send you the relevant meeting link.
Given that is it holiday time some of you are unlikely to be able to come to these sessions so do feel free to drop us a line to feed in your views about what you think the key policy asks should be in any or all of these area.
