As summer draws to a close and the weather turns decidedly autumnal, we have lots of activities planned or in the pipeline that we hope you will find space for in your diaries.
These include three Child Poverty Free Community events in Merton, Kensington & Chelsea and Barnet. These are a chance for members (and prospective members) to come together, share experiences & information and find new ways to collaborate & campaign to end child poverty in their localities. The first event in Merton is coming up on 17 September so scroll down to our events section and book a spot today!
On 18 September we are holding an information event 'Supporting migrants and minoritised families through the SEND diagnosis process'. This intersectional issue is one of the most frequently raised by members across the Network, so this session will shine a light on the barriers families face, look at how organisations can support families to overcome them, as well as consider ways to advocate for a more inclusive, accessible system. Please do sign up and share the details which can be found below.
The next 4in10 Policy Forum meeting will take place on 7 October, 10.30 - 12.00 online. We will be discussing our collective response to the Child Poverty Strategy due to be published later in the autumn. To join this meeting email Katherine for the link.
And finally save the date for 26 November, 5-7pm when we will hold the launch of the findings of our research project on homelessness and child poverty carried out in collaboration with our members Cardinal Hume Centre and New Horizon Youth Centre, at The Abbey Centre, Westminster. More details to follow soon.
Hope to see lots of you at one or more of these events in the coming weeks!
